Ellen Hoch

Ellen Hoch spent 16 years at one of the premier financial services-focused retained executive search boutiques, Westwood Partners.  She joined the firm in 2004, where she specialized in recruiting senior executives for Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, and others in the broader Financial Services ecosystem. Having begun her career on Wall Street and utilizing her management consulting mindset, Ellen has been able to crack some of the industry’s toughest executive searches across a wide range of functions, from investment to sales and other critical infrastructure roles.

While at Westwood, Ellen also co-founded TalentStat and the Connectivity Venture Fund (CVF), two businesses that uniquely complemented the firm's retained search focus.   TalentStat is a software company that offers the first-ever scientific, skills-based pre-hire assessment for investment talent and CVF is an early stage micro VC fund that has made investments in 22 portfolio companies.

Prior to Westwood, Ellen worked in Equity Research at Citigroup and in management consulting within PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Strategic Change Practice. Ellen has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where she worked as a Teaching Assistant and received the TA Award of the Year in 2002.  She earned her BBA in Finance with High Distinction from The University of Michigan in 1997.  While there, she was selected by Dr. Noel Tichy as one of two undergraduate students to join his high-profile research team, which eventually published the 1997 Business Week bestseller, The Leadership Engine.  Ellen lives in Westfield, New Jersey with her husband (Andrew, UM Class of ’97) and her three children, all of whom are tremendous Michigan fans!
