Career Background

Frank Hayes is a Managing Partner with Wynnchurch Capital, a Chicago-based private equity fund formed in 1999 with approximately $4 billion under management. Wynnchurch specializes in underperforming and complex transactions, including corporate carveouts, management buyouts, recapitalizations and restructurings, principally in the industrial markets. Frank has been investing institutional private equity funds for over 26 years, responsible for all areas of investment origination, execution and portfolio management.

Prior to entering private equity, Frank provided financing for LBO’s with Citicorp Leveraged Capital, and was a CPA with PWC at the start of his career. He has served on a number of private boards, including the following Wynnchurch portfolio companies: Android Industries, Webex, NSC Minerals, Humanetics, JAC Products, Profab, Calyx, Northstar Aerospace, Henniges, Highway Technologies, Gyptech, Texas Hydraulics, Carson Air, America II and Senco.

Mr. Hayes graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.B.A. in 1984. Today, Frank and his wife Melissa reside in Naperville, IL and have two sons: Alex, a School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduate, and Ben, a 2017 graduate from the University of Michigan’s LSA program.
