Career Background

Lori Pomerantz is a Managing Director and Lead Portfolio Manager on the High Yield, Bank Loan and Opportunistic credit teams within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) Fixed Income based in New York City. Prior to joining GSAM Fixed Income in 2020, Lori was a senior Vice President in GSAM’s Alternative Investments and Manager Selection (AIMS) business. In this position, which she held since 2015, she spearheaded long only fixed income manager selection for both institutional and high net worth clients of the Firm. Lori’s expertise spans a variety of sub-asset classes, including High Yield, Leveraged Loans, Investment Grade, Multi-Sector Fixed Income, Structured Credit, and Municipals, as well as ESG incorporation into those strategies. Additionally, she partnered with the Firm’s oCIO business and its pension plan clients to lead liability-driven investing manager selection and portfolio construction. Prior to Goldman, she spent 12 years as a High Yield and Leveraged Loan Credit Analyst at BNP Paribas, Macquarie Capital, Citigroup, and Lehman Brothers. Lori earned a BBA with dual concentrations in Finance and Accounting from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in 2003. During her time at Ross, she was the co-Founder and co-President of the BBA Finance Club.

In addition to serving on the Alumni Board of Governors, Lori is highly involved in philanthropic endeavors and her community, including The Juilliard School, the American Museum of Natural History, and the James Beard Foundation. She is also a member of the Fixed Income Analysts Society (FIASI). Formerly, she was a member of the Ross BBA Advisory Board.

Lori lives in Manhattan with her husband Zachary (Cornell alum, but Michigan sports fan) and her two children, Alexandra (8) and Harrison (5), who are already well-versed in “Hail to the Victors.
