Career Background

Marc Ingram is a nationally recognized leader with 25 years’ experience in the public sector. During his career, Mr. Ingram helped a school district successfully recover from the pandemic and another district successfully recover from a negative fund balance.

Currently, Mr. Ingram is the Chief Financial and Operations Officer for the Southfield (MI) Public Schools District. In this role, Mr. Ingram oversees a $90 million dollar budget and provides vision to project managers, contractors and facilities staff on the new construction projects resulting from bond money. He also worked with the Executive Cabinet to strategically spend $20 million in coronavirus relief funds with the expressed purpose of bringing students and staff safely back from the pandemic. 

For his efforts, Mr. Ingram was named one of the Top 100 Leaders in Education at the Global Forum for Education and Learning (GFEL) conference in 2021. This year, he will receive an Outstanding Leadership Award at the same conference.

Prior to Southfield Public Schools, Mr. Ingram was the Deputy Executive Director of Budget for Detroit (MI) Public Schools overseeing a $700 million budget. At Detroit Public Schools, he helped the district reverse its negative fund balance and get out of state oversight.

In addition to his MBA, Mr. Ingram has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Michigan.
