Roger H. Williams III
In Memoriam
Roger H.
Williams III

Roger H. Williams, III, MBA '85; died February 2023, in New York City. He worked in risk management at a number of major financial service firms. Largely self-taught in advanced mathematics and statistical analysis, in 2004, Roger invented and earned a U.S. Patent on an innovation business process product that simplified the risk management of mortgage-backed securities. In later years, he worked on developing his invention, and as a financial services risk and compliance consultant. A devotee of this adopted city of New York, Roger was known to his friends for his flashing yet under-the-radar wit, his gentlemanly generosity to others, especially the less fortunate, his incisive commentaries on financial markets and political economies, and his love of single malt whiskey. Roger was very proud of his association with University of Michigan and the Ross School, and often lauded the achievements of its scholars and athletes. He is survived by his sisters, Martha Williams Kirkley of Rochester, NY, and Cynthia Williams of Fall River, MA. [In honor of Roger's memory this honorarium note has been submitted on behalf of Roger's family and friends].

The Michigan Ross community keeps Roger and his family and friends in our thoughts.
