Growing up in Arkansas, I knew that I wanted to attend a globally recognized university that would give me access to top accounting firms. As one of the top-ranked MAcc programs in the country, I knew that Ross would best prepare me to take the CPA exam and start my career in public accounting. Based on my time in undergrad, I chose Ross because of its practical approach to learning, which is rooted in real-life case studies instead of just textbook material. Additionally, all of my professors are experts in their field, and many of them literally "wrote the book" on that subject, something I couldn't get anywhere else.
My favorite part about the MAcc is the huge variety of elective classes. I am very interested in finance and will be working in Financial Services Audit. Based on my interests, I was able to take many different finance and banking electives to truly tailor the MAcc program to my career path.
It is amazing to me that you never have to leave the Ross building to get a job. I was able to recruit and interview with all of the Big 4 directly in Ross, and Michigan's strong alumni connections made recruiting easier.
