Hi everyone! My name is Chasey, and I’m currently a BBA sophomore planning to concentrate in accounting. I had always known that I wanted to pursue business, but my overall knowledge of business was very minimal before coming to Ross. Coming from a small town of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, my opportunities in high school were limited to core classes and had little to no exposure to business ideals. Additionally, with being a first-generation student, I didn’t know what to expect for the path to pursue business in my future. Despite these obstacles, I made the decision to step into the unknown and explore what Ross had to offer. Let me tell you, it was by far the best decision I have ever made!
Reflecting on my time at Ross so far, I have realized that what I value most about this school is the collaborative, success-driven, and welcoming atmosphere created by students and staff. Coming from smaller class sizes back home and having a familiarity of knowing everyone, Ross’s cohort system of having the same classmates in my core classes all four years has helped me form similar strong relationships with peers who are embarking on the same Ross journey. I can always find a classmate who’s willing to offer support, study together, and even just hang out and catch up with. I can even say I’ve met some of my best friends through the Ross experience. Additionally, the professors, advisors, and other staff members strive to make impactful relationships with us students and genuinely care about our success. Ross is not just a school, but rather it’s a family. Ross has inspired me to reach my highest potential, no matter what backgrounds I came from, and my experience here is something I’ll cherish forever.
