Rajat Kalra

Prior to Ross, I worked as an investment banker for ~5 years most recently with Rothschild & Co helping healthcare and consumer sector clients in India make M&A transactions. My interest in healthcare and gaining an operational understanding of businesses made me pivot to an early-stage healthcare startup where I worked predominantly on formulating strategies for alternate channel expansion and pivoting the business model during the second wave of COVID-19 in India.

I decided to attend business school to gain a holistic understanding of the various facets of business, learn from the experiences of people with diverse backgrounds, and augment my knowledge of the global healthcare landscape. I chose Ross because of the warm and forthcoming nature of the student community, its strong emphasis on action-based learning (especially healthcare-themed MAP projects), and the leadership development opportunities provided by the Sanger Leadership Centre. 

Over the summer, I interned with the Barclays Healthcare investment banking team working on specialty pharmaceutical and biotech transactions. 

Outside of Ross, I enjoy watching and playing soccer, racquet sports, and poetry. Happy to help in whatever way I can. Please reach out with any questions. Go Blue!
