BUSABRD 425: Luxury Management across Borders
Even though we saw a sharp fall in revenues in 2020 compared to 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the global personal luxury goods market is expected to increase to US$388 billion in 2025. Luxury is a unique industry; brands play a big role in luxury, however, managing luxury brands is different from traditional brands. This course is designed to (1) provide students with an in-depth understanding of the history and culture of luxury, (2) provide an overview of the global personal luxury goods sector and key players and trends in the industry, and (3) teach the principles of luxury management.
While this course will be delivered in-person in Ann Arbor, an "Alumni Insights around the World" seminar series has been incorporated as a way to visit the globe virtually. Students will have a chance to learn from alumni about different luxury brands and the varying strategies used in how these brands are marketed in different parts of the world.
Registration for BUSABRD 425 is open to Ross juniors and seniors and Ross minors who have taken MKT 300/302. No application required to enroll in the course. Register for the class directly in Wolverine Access!
