Biography

John Silberholz is an Assistant Professor of Technology and Operations. His main research interests lie in healthcare analytics -- the use of data to enhance healthcare decisions. He is particularly interested in questions surrounding designing and learning from clinical trials, and his research relies on both analytical modeling and empirical tools to dig into this topic. He is interested not only in how to most efficiently run a clinical trial to compare a set of treatments, but also how to best select what should be compared within that clinical trial as well as how to derive as much value as possible from the results of the trial. Prof. Silberholz has published in top management journals such as Operations Research and Management Science as well as in healthcare journals, and he has twice received the William Pierskalla Best Paper Award, which is given annually to the top healthcare management science paper by the INFORMS Health Applications Society. He teaches an MBA course on big data management.
