Happy 2019! Hopefully, you didn’t spend too much time over the break frantically finishing your Round 2 Application. I spent part of the holiday season working with my son on a waitlist strategy for his top choice undergraduate program.
It’s that time of year again. Round 1 decision notification time.
You may be wondering what day admit calls will start, in what order the calls will be made, and, importantly, whether your number will be on the list.
As usual, it’s been a busy couple of weeks here! We’ve met hundreds of applicants at our Round 1 interview days. Current students are coffee chatting and mock interviewing in preparation for internship interviews.
If you’ve read about our Team Exercise or talked to candidates who’ve participated, you have a good sense of what the experience will be like — you’ll be placed on a team with other applicants to develop and solve a challenge based on randomly selected words. However, we’ve made some changes to the exercise this year that I wanted to share.
Responding to essay prompts can be tough. You may wonder if you should tell a professional or personal story. If there’s a particular kind of story the Admissions Committee is looking for. If yours is epic enough. Or unique enough. Or if the AdCom will stop reading after the last word in the word limit.
For those of you who are ready to get started on your applications for Fall 2019, the Michigan Ross application is now live. If you took a look at last year’s app, you’ll see that it’s largely the same.
