Mark Wien, BBA '08

Mark Wien is Founder and CEO of PocketPatientMD, a digital health and electronic medical platform with a strong presence in emerging markets including across Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Mark has examined healthcare systems across the world, traveling across Asia and spending several years in Africa visiting over 35 countries meeting with healthcare stakeholders in the public and private sector while launching PocketPatientMD.

Prior to PocketPatientMD, Mark co-founded a triage mobile application focused on reducing unnecessary ER visits in the US. Mark also founded a microfinance firm focused on creating and deploying a new micro-equity investment vehicle which helped lead him on his path to healthcare. Mark has experience in global finance beginning on Wall Street at Bank of America Securities/Merrill Lynch, healthcare, and medicine.

Mark graduated from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, and later attended Medical School, leaving to found PocketPatientMD.
