Career Background

Since 2020, Sean has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Encore Rehabilitation Services, based in Farmington Hills, MI. Encore is a leading provider of outcome-driven therapy services and associated compliance and revenue cycle support services, primarily to skilled nursing facilities across the U.S. Sean previously served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer from 2017 to 2018. Sean also presently serves on the Boards of Directors of Zomedica (NYSE MKT: ZOM), Spar Group (NASDAQ: SGRP), and OptioRx (Private). Sean has spent the majority of his career in the healthcare services industry, but has also spent time in consumer products, automotive and public accounting. He has held senior leadership positions in a variety of company types – public, private equity-backed, and founder-owned.

Prior to Encore, Sean served as CFO for Smile America Partners, Bedrock Manufacturing (Shinola and Filson brands), Diplomat Pharmacy (NYSE: DPLO) and InfuSystem Holdings (NYSE MKT: INFU). Sean was instrumental in leading Diplomat Pharmacy’s successful $200M IPO in October 2014, and helped the company grow from a $375M private company to a $4.4B public company (subsequently sold to UnitedHealth Group’s Optum group). While at InfuSystem, Sean successfully completed a SPAC transaction and transitioned the firm to a public company. Prior to his various healthcare executive roles, Sean held senior finance positions with Ford Motor Company. Sean began his career with Deloitte, serving a diverse set of audit clients in the firm’s Detroit office.

Sean holds Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accounting degrees, both from Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Sean is a proud native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, having grown up in Marquette, MI. Sean and his wife, Kerie, have three children (Cate, Conor and Meg) and reside in Plymouth, MI. They also spend as much time as possible on Walloon Lake in Petoskey, MI.
