Thomas M Thivierge
Tom Thivierge has helped leaders to maximize their strengths and neutralize their weaknesses. He has formally coached executives over the past fifteen years while being an executive HR leader. He built long lasting, confidential relationships with leaders that appreciated his insightful candor, innovative approaches and focus on setting goals and getting results.
Tom retired from General Motors in 2016 after thirty-one years in order to concentrate on his Executive Coaching and HR consulting company. While in Corporate life, he had global HR responsibilities for functions such as engineering, manufacturing, information technology and finance, serving the senior executives responsible for these functions. He also led both the talent management and talent acquisition centers of expertise, working with the CEO and HR SVP to implement world-class talent assessment and succession planning systems/tools. His operating line responsibilities during his career included leadership roles in labor relations, manufacturing and strategic planning.
Tom has developed a deep expertise in the assessment of talent, leadership development and large-scale organizational change on a global basis. He focused on helping leaders who were either high potential or going through a period of job transition. He was also a trainer in GM’s leadership college, certifying other coaches and teaching leadership presence, leading change, personal branding, enabling diversity, building effective teams and situational leadership.
As an avid marathon runner and life management student, having beaten MS for twenty-five plus years, he also helped leaders with how to achieve both business and health goals.
