Q&A with Cathy

AS THE PARENT OF TWO COLLEGE-AGED STUDENTS, WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR PARENTS?

I understand how hard it is to let them go. But we have to trust them to make their own decisions. They are becoming young adults, and learning how to do things on their own will be critical to their transformation in college and in life.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE EVER GOTTEN?

My father told me to get to know everyone in an organization because everyone is deserving of kindness and respect. We are building a community here, and everyone has a place in that community.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST HOPE FOR ROSS BBA GRADUATES?

They are the leaders of the future, and I believe they are the generation that is going to make incredible, profound changes in the world.

IF YOU COULD GIVE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO INCOMING ROSS STUDENTS, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

This is a learning environment, you are allowed to make mistakes. Failure is not a bad thing, it actually pushes you to go even further.

WHAT ARE YOU READING?

I love Scandinavian noir detective and police procedurals. I’m always open to recommendations!
