Mergers, Acquisitions, and Corporate Development --- The aim of this course is to offer a structured approach and a toolkit to handle M&As issues from their initiation to their implementation. The course is primarily a strategy course, taking the perspective of corporate strategy and examining how a firm can achieve and sustain competitive advantage through M&As and corporate development activities. It is particularly useful for those who plan to work on, and eventually lead, corporate development activities within firms. It is also valuable for those intending to become strategy consultants or investment bankers. This course applies many concepts covered in many functional courses, such as accounting, finance, and organizational behavior, thus providing an opportunity for students to recap and integrate these functional specialties before they graduate.
