The Ross School of Business Online MBA Program is a premier online MBA option, as demonstrated by its recent No. 6 ranking by U.S. News and World Report.

The Michigan Ross OMBA jumped 10 spots from last year to earn the No. 6 spot, making it the program’s highest U.S. News ranking since launching in 2019. Last year, the program was ranked No. 16.

“We are encouraged by our rise in the U.S. News and World Report ranking and are proud that our OMBA Program has earned its place among the top 10 institutions," said S. Sriram, associate dean for graduate programs. "This achievement is a reflection of the collaborative effort of our faculty and staff to provide students with a convenient, rigorous, and innovative learning experience that they can leverage into impressive career outcomes.”

The Michigan Ross OMBA Program was also among the top five schools in the nation in three specialty areas, including:

  • No. 1 in “Best Online MBA Programs in Marketing”
  • No. 2 in “Best Online Finance MBA Programs”
  • No. 4 in “Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans”

U.S. News’ rankings are based on an overall score calculated from differing weighted measures in five categories: engagement, peer assessment, faculty credentials and training, student excellence, and service and technologies. A program's score for each ranking indicator is calculated using data that the program reported to U.S. News in a statistical survey and from data collected in a separate peer assessment survey.

The Michigan Ross OMBA Program is highly experiential and delivers course content asynchronously and via live online sessions through the Digital Education Studios. Students participate in three in-person residencies in Ann Arbor and around the world.

The newest members of the Michigan Ross OMBA Program include 161 accomplished professionals who live and work in 27 U.S. states. Their average seven years of work experience span diverse backgrounds, including internet and software services, finance, healthcare, and the military. Their undergraduate degrees are in a wide range of disciplines, such as engineering, business and economics, and social sciences/humanities, bringing valuable perspectives and insights. Additionally, 30% already hold an advanced degree.
